- Thanks to the agreement concluded between BP Techem and UK-based ICON Scientific, Polish refineries may soon receive state-of-the-art analytical systems for the control of petrochemical processes. ICON Scientific is a world leader in online analysers of physical and chemical properties. These solutions, due to their extraordinary accuracy, enable the optimisation of production processes and the blending of liquid fuels. By streamlining the compounding process, users gain the ability to produce finished products more cost-effectively, efficiently and safely. BP Techem is a local specialist in the implementation of such systems. Thanks to the concluded agreement, the Polish company will be able to comprehensively support the country’s refineries in Płock, Gdańsk, Trzebinia and Jedlicze throughout the entire process covering the implementation, operation and servicing of the aforementioned equipment.
“Modern analytical systems that test online such fuel parameters as cetane index, viscosity, vapour pressure, setting point, pour point and flash point may prove to be particularly needed now, when our refineries have ‘switched’ from Russian oil to products imported from various places around the world,” says Barbara Flisowska-Wiercik, head of Analytical Systems department at BP Techem. “We must remember that each source of crude oil has its own physical and chemical characteristics, yet the final product that we pour into a fuel tank must be the same. That is why it is worth using professional analytical systems to detect even the smallest deviations from the standard at a very early stage of fuel production,” adds the expert from BP Techem.
Analysers from Icon Scientific have been designed by British engineers and go beyond the limitations of existing devices on the market to date. They provide an extremely high level of measurement accuracy and their explosion-proof design has been certified in accordance with international standards such as: ATEX, IECEx, UKEx, TIIS, EACEx and ETL. This ensures the highest level of safety, especially when operating in explosive atmospheres.
The British have chosen BP Techem as their partner in Poland. The company has been providing proven solutions for industry for 30 years and is constantly developing its Analytical Systems department. BP Techem’s product range includes equipment for continuous and laboratory measurements as well as solutions for process mixture and water and sewage analyses. Long-standing cooperation with nearly twenty of the world’s leading manufacturers of measuring instruments ensures that analytical systems can be configured flexibly, and the completion and production of these systems in Poland allows for a combination of the highest quality with a competitive price.
